How to be a Poll Worker

You have to be a registered voter in Putnam County, New York, if you volunteer as a poll worker. To show your interest and finish an application, contact the Putnam County Board of Elections. To know their responsibilities—which include helping voters, configuring voting equipment, and guaranteeing a fair election process—poll workers must show up for a training session. Usually working early morning until the polls shut, poll workers are Election Day. You will be paid for your time; working as a poll worker is an excellent means for you to help democracy and serve your community.

Eligibility

Must be a registered voter in Putnam County, NY.

Training

Attend a mandatory training session to learn poll worker responsibilities.

Duties

ssist voters, set up voting equipment, and ensure election fairness.

Compensation

Poll workers are paid for their time and service on Election Day.
