Putnam County Republicans believe in promoting pro-growth policies by advocating for tax cuts and reforms to stimulate economic growth and encourage entrepreneurship. We support small businesses, which are the backbone of our local economy. Our tax reform initiatives aim to reduce the burden on citizens and small businesses, and we firmly support lower tax rates.

We prioritize fiscal responsibility by reducing government spending and eliminating unnecessary government bureaucracies. Energy independence is also a key focus, ensuring a strong and sustainable economy.

If we don’t have a Border, we don’t have a Country! We support restoring effective border security and immigration policies and thoroughly checking everyone entering our country. We support LEGAL immigration. We must also deport the millions of illegal migrants that Joe Biden has allowed into our country, starting with the most dangerous criminals, in collaboration with local police. Democrats immigration policies must no longer be permitted to endanger our communities and alter our nation. Putnam County Republicans support restoring sensible border security and legal immigration.

We believe in local control over our schools where parents, teachers, and local school boards are best positioned to make decisions about education rather than the federal government. Education policies should be tailored to meet the needs of local communities. We support the following:

School Choice: We believe parents should have the ability to choose the best educational setting for their children

Opposition to Common Core curriculum which represents federal overreach. Educational standards should be developed via state and local levels.

Parental Rights: Allowing parents to opt their children out of certain lessons and or activities they disagree with.

Curriculum Content that emphasizes traditional academic subjects and promotes patriotism, civic education, and American history. We oppose curricula that promote political ideologies or social agendas such ad critical race theory

Teacher Accountability and Merit Pay through rewarding effective teachers and holding underperforming teachers accountable. We believe it will improve education quality.

Focus on STEM Education on science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education. We believe these fields are critical for the future workforce and the nation’s competitiveness.

Promote Vocational Training Jobs which are backbones to our communities.

The Republican stance on taxes is rooted in principles of limited government, individual freedom, and economic growth.

   2. Tax Cuts for Businesses: Republicans often support tax cuts for businesses, including both small businesses and large corporations. They believe that reducing the corporate tax rate encourages business expansion, boosts job creation, and increases global competitiveness.
   3. Simplifying the Tax Code: Republicans generally favor simplifying the tax code to make it more straightforward and easier to understand. They often propose eliminating loopholes, deductions, and special interest provisions that complicate the tax system.
   4. Opposition to Wealth Redistribution: Republicans typically oppose tax policies that they see as wealth redistribution, such as high taxes on the wealthy to fund government programs. They believe that individuals should not be penalized for success and that everyone should have the opportunity to prosper based on their own efforts.
   5. Incentives for Saving and Investment: Republicans often support tax policies that encourage saving and investment, such as lower taxes on capital gains, dividends, and estates. They argue that these incentives help grow the economy and build wealth for future generations.
   6. Fiscal Responsibility: While advocating for lower taxes, Republicans also emphasize the importance of fiscal responsibility and reducing government spending. They argue that lowering taxes should be accompanied by cuts in government spending to avoid increasing the national debt.
   7. Opposition to High Progressive Tax Rates: Republicans often oppose highly progressive tax rates, where higher earners pay a significantly higher percentage of their income in taxes. They argue that this can discourage hard work and investment, and that a flatter tax structure is more equitable.
   8. Support for Tax Reform: Republicans frequently push for comprehensive tax reform that would lower rates, broaden the tax base, and eliminate many deductions and credits. The goal is to create a tax system that is fairer, simpler, and more conducive to economic growth.

We strongly support police and law enforcement and advocate for law and order. We emphasize the importance of public safety, and for the respect and support for police officers. We believe that police officers play a critical role in maintaining public safety and upholding the rule of law.

Oppose Defunding the Police: we are against movements to defund the police. This leads to increased crime and makes communities less safe. 

Tough on Crime we advocate strict enforcement of laws and policies that prioritize the rights of victims over those of criminals. This includes support for measures like mandatory sentencing, especially for violent crimes, and opposition to lenient policies that may lead to more crime. NO CASH BAIL!

Focus on Law and Order: We emphasize the importance of maintaining law and order as a fundamental aspect of a stable society. Law enforcement should have the authority and tools necessary to maintain peace and protect citizens from criminal activity.

Respect for Police Officers  We support a culture of respect and appreciation for police officers. 

Support for Qualified Immunity for police officers, which protects them from personal liability in civil lawsuits when performing their duties within the scope of their authority. This is necessary to allow officers to make split-second decisions in dangerous situations without fear of personal lawsuits.

1. Market-Driven Healthcare: We believe that competition can lead to better quality care, innovation, and lower costs for patients.

2. Opposition to Government-Run Healthcare: This will lead to inefficiencies, long wait times, and reduced quality of care. Instead, we support private-sector solutions to healthcare.

3. Patient Choice and Control: We believe in the importance of patient choice in healthcare. Individuals should have the freedom to choose their hospitals, doctors, and healthcare plans, rather than being restricted by government-mandated options.

4. Reducing Regulation: We stand for reducing regulations on hospitals and healthcare providers. Excessive regulation can increase costs, limit innovation, and hinder the ability of providers to deliver care. A less regulated environment allows hospitals to operate more efficiently and effectively.

5. Opposition to Obamacare: We oppose the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), which leads to higher costs, reduces patient choice, and imposes burdensome regulations on hospitals and healthcare providers. We advocate for repealing or replacing Obamacare with alternative policies that would lower costs and increase access to care.

6. Encouraging Health Savings Accounts (HSAs): We support the use of Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), which allow individuals to save money tax-free for medical expenses. This gives patients more control over their healthcare spending and encourages them to make cost-conscious decisions.

7. Medicare and Medicaid Reform: We advocate for reforms to Medicare and Medicaid to ensure the sustainability of these programs and include proposals to introduce more private-sector competition.

8. Opposition to Hospital Mergers that Limit Competition: Although we support free-market principles, we oppose hospital mergers that significantly reduce competition in local markets. Maintaining competition is key to keeping healthcare costs down and improving quality.
